OLD FASHIONED MEDICINE | MODERN CONVENIENCE
Willowbrook Family Medicine FAQs
Willowbrook Family Medicine is a direct primary care practice that is changing how you receive your medical care. We believe in medicine how it was practiced in “the good old days,” where your provider was available whenever you needed them, and they did whatever necessary to attend to your needs.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is primary care the way it was meant to be. We remove the insurance middle-man, red tape, and the silly rules and regulations that prevent us from providing thorough, high-quality, timely care to our patients.
Because we do not accept insurance, we are not bound by their rules, regulations and red tape. Therefore, we can provide you with a truly personalized healthcare experience without trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. No two people are alike, so why should your healthcare be standardized? Because we are independent from insurance, we can give you as much time as you need during your visits without feeling rushed, answer any and all questions you may have, perform a thorough examination, and be available 24/7 because life happens. We promise to always provide our services at an extremely affordable monthly rate so you can finally make your health a priority again.
Absolutely! Everyone benefits from consistent healthcare checkups when thinking about prevention. As Benjamin Franklin said, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Our focus is on preventing anything that will interrupt your life, work, activities, finances and family. Catching potential problems early almost always results in much more favorable outcomes than realizing something is a problem years down the road. Avoiding just one ER visit can often cover your membership fee for 2+ years! That’s wild!
We all get sick, hurt, etc. but many of us don’t seek medical attention because of the high costs. Now you don’t have to worry about that. You can simply shoot your provider a text and have your answer shortly after. If you ever need stitches or some cream for that pesky rash, we’ve got you covered.
No. In fact we gladly don’t accept insurance. Unfortunately it’s nearly impossible to provide you with the personalized care we do at Willowbrook, and work with insurance companies. The system is broken, and at this time, this is the only way we can help fix it. Before, we were seeing patients for 2-5 minutes, and then spending an additional 10+ minutes documenting, billing and filing in accordance with the insurance rules and regulations. Now we can spend as much time as you would like on your visits, most people come for 30-60 minutes or more! Would you have insurance for routine things like putting gas in your car, or buying groceries?? No! So why should insurance companies be dictating how you receive your routine medical care?
By cutting out the insurance middle-man, we can work directly with you and your family. This saves you oodles of money, time, and frustration and at the end of the day; you receive much better medical care! Through insurance companies, we have to uphold contracts that prevent us from providing you with wholesale prices on labs, imaging, etc. You would be shocked to see how much more you pay through insurance companies than through our wholesale negotiated rates! Head to the our fees page to find out!
Come on in and say hi! We provide free consultations with no commitments, obligations or pressure. Call, email or send us a message through our website to set up your visit now! We would be over the moon to have you come by and see our cozy office and show you how your medical care can become totally revolutionized, starting now!
Billing: All membership fees will be collected on the 15th of the month which will cover that current month (June 1st-June 30th will be billed on June 15th). Fees will not be prorated if you sign up after the 1st of the month. Please note that your $25 application/enrollment fee is non-refundable due to the extensive medical review processes necessary to determine if you are an appropriate fit for our clinic.
Auto-Pay: All members are required to have a credit card/debit card/bank account on file and enroll in auto-pay. Due to our small staff, we are unable to bill an invoice to each patient. If you absolutely cannot pay in this manner, please discuss with your provider (Sarah) to come up with a plan that works for you. After your initial 3 months, there are no long-term contracts in place. A 30 day notice provided to the clinic in writing is required for cancellation, prorated to the half month. You will continue to have services, if you choose, through the end of your current billing cycle. Ex: If you pay on June 15th and notify us of cancellation on June 22nd, you will be responsible to pay again on July 15th, will have services through the end of July and will not be charged after that. All remaining fees are due at the time of cancellation. Please note, there are re-enrollment fees should you choose to cancel or allow your membership to lapse (see “Our Fees”page).
3-Month Minimum: Upon joining, all members agree to a 3-month minimum commitment. Please note that these policies are in place to maintain the extremely high quality DPC services and standards we promise to all of our patients. DPC is about long-lasting, personal relationships with your provider, who knows YOU inside and out. We cannot provide exceptional and personalized medical care if our practice is treated as a revolving door. We want to help our patients as much as possible, so if ever any financial or other hardships arise, please speak with your provider (Sarah) and she will be happy to help in any way she can.
Refunds: No refunds are permitted once a payment goes through, unless it is the result of a mistake on the practice's end.
Additional Services: All services not included in your membership (labs, imaging, etc.) will be billed to your credit/debit/bank account on file at the time of service. If you would prefer to pay for these services in cash or check, you can do so as well.
Late Payments: There will be a $10 fee for any insufficient funds or declined cards, and a $10 late fee if membership fees are not paid within 7 days of the due date. We allow you a 14-day grace period for late payments before your membership will fully lapse. After the 14-day grace period, your account will be suspended. You will still be responsible for the initial 3 months of membership payments from the last payment we receive.
Legal Disclaimer: By choosing to sign up for a Willowbrook Family Medicine membership you obligate yourself by law to all of the requirements stated on this website.
Controlled substances will not be prescribed within the first 3 months of membership. These include benzodiazepines, narcotics, and stimulants. All patients on controlled substances are required to enter into a controlled substance contract. All controlled substance prescriptions require monthly drug testing and Willowbrook Family Medicine reserves the right to perform random drug testing at any time.
